The Biden/Palin marriage debate

Not to overly h/t to Pam on here, but she has a great analysis of the Biden/Palin analysis over the Blend.

Pam's analysis is poignant for two particular reasons.  

1. It illustrates how Biden's answer and Palin's answer--although agreeing in text--illustrates a difference in intent and ultimately execution of policy if elected to office.
2. It opens the door for strategic follow-up.  The particular question Pam suggests is:

"Exactly which benefits should be denied to same-sex couples on that continuum between hospital visitation rights, legal contracts that they approve of and full-blown civil marriage?"

Now that's a question I want an answer to.
