Stonewall Democrats mourns the passing of Desi Deschaine

Stonewall Democrats mourns the passing of Desi Deschaine, committed Democrat, progressive activist, and loyal friend.

Desi was a longtime member of the Gertrude Stein Club, the DC-based affiliated chapter of National Stonewall Democrats. He served as the National Committeeman for the DC Young Democrats, member of the DC Democratic State Committee, Vice President of the Logan Circle Community Association, and Communications Director for Councilmember Jack Evans.

The Stein Club sent an email to their membership that read in part:

"Desi Deschaine was a bright and shining star in the DC Democratic Party and in the DC activist community.

Desi involved himself in every sector of DC society and loved to build bridges and facilitate connections across communities.

Desi will be missed, but through the joy he shared with us and his deep commitment to the District his spirit will live on."

Here at National Stonewall Democrats, we could not agree more with the Stein Club's tribute to Desi.

He will be dearly missed by his colleagues, cohorts, and friends, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this difficult time.
