Get Back! Straight Honky Cats!

Republican Representatives John Shimkus of Illinois and Thomas Reynolds of New York are crazy for Elton John and even more so for cash. The same-sex couple (at least in political fundraising) are planning to treat privileged campaign donors to a night out at Elton John's performance in Washington, DC this September.

Don't be looking for Shimkus and Reynolds to be throwing their panties onstage, however. They save their enthusiasm for their support for an anti-marriage constitutional amendment. Both are big backers of the ban - having voted for it in 2004 and campaigned on it that fall. But as long as the gays keep to playing the piano and funny on Will & Grace, the lawmakers are happy to use homosexuals to raise money for the Republican Party while lining their campaign nests with fabulous feather boas.
